MONTREAL, June 18, 2009 – Aurora Interactive, the world leader in digital pathology communications, announced today that its mScope product is now used as a universal image viewer to power PathXchange, the new global online pathology community currently linking more than 1000 pathologists.

“PathXchange is an open platform and promotes partnerships with companies who wish to offer value added services to our online pathology community. mScope, developed by Aurora, allows our users to view slide images created by different vendors, thereby further removing barriers associated with collaborating on cases online”, said Mohan Uttarwar, head of the PathXchange initiative.

Leveraging the latest information technologies, PathXchange combines the elements of a case gallery (like MyPacs), community content contribution (like YouTube), and professional networking (like Facebook, LinkedIn) to provide a highly valuable online resource for collaboration, online archival and education.
